About this refrigeration PM checklist
Use it as a general commercial refrigeration maintenance checklist for coolers, freezers, prep tables and other systems. Record box temperature, suction and discharge pressures, superheat, subcooling, amps and defrost settings, then tick each check.
Questions
What does a commercial refrigeration PM include?
Temperature and pressure readings, superheat and subcooling, amps and voltage, condenser and evaporator cleaning, fans, defrost, drains, safeties, a leak check and alarm testing.
Should I record refrigerant added?
Yes. EPA rules under Section 608 and the AIM Act set leak repair and record-keeping requirements for many commercial systems, depending on refrigerant type and charge size. Recording the amount added on every visit helps you keep those records.
How often should commercial refrigeration be serviced?
Quarterly PM is common, and monthly in harsh kitchen environments. Follow the manufacturer and your service agreement.
